Hierarachical selective BOM

Hi all,

Our mechanical engineering dept. uses Vantage to dump the BOM of the
machines that we manufacture.

These BOMs can have up to 5 or 6 levels of indentation.

The electrical engineering dept. would like to be able to extract specific
parts information, such as the machine's motors, without having to browse
through thousands of parts. The motors, depending on the machine model, can
be located at different levels in the BOM.

I'd like to be able to write something, either a report or Progress code, to
generate something like the following:
(Sorry for the formatting)

Machine_PartNum Desc Sub_assy_level1 Desc Sub_assy_level2 ...
Motor_PartNum Desc

WCRT0200-00048 BLAH
6MFRA00200 FOO

0EMTR00022 1HP MOTOR

6MCON00034 BAR

6MRAL00123

0EMTR00023 2HP MOTOR

So on...

The idea is that no matter what level the motor is located in, I'd get the
full path back to the top level, or at least to the 1st level of sub-assy.

I have looked at the 8 levels indented BOM in the files section of this
group, but it has one small problem: when there exists more than one
revision of a given sub_assy, it will list the BOM for all revisions for
said sub_assy. I'd need to limit the BOM to the highest revnum of any
sub_assy.

Anyone wants to tackle this one ?

Thanks.
