Hiring Senior Buyer/Planner
Position Description
The Buyer/Planner performs materials and production planning including
developing and maintaining relationships with the vendor base. Determine
the best vendors based on price, delivery, and historical performance. Plan
inventory levels and place orders. Determine purchasing priorities and
economic order quantities. Create and maintain vendor partnership programs,
JIT, Kanban, etc. Conduct and maintain cost reduction programs.
A degree in business or engineering with a concentration or experience in
manufacturing systems, materials manufacturing, or purchasing is desirable.
Supply chain management training helpful. APICS certification a plus.
Several years experience in a manufacturing environment.
Required Skills
* Highly motivated, goal-oriented, and organized, with strong
interpersonal skills
* High level of PC proficiency, particularly Word and Excel
* Solid experience implementing and using ERP/MRP systems, preferably
Epicor Vantage
* Experience in manufacturing costs estimating
* Strong oral and written communication skills
* Proven negotiation skills
* Ability to work toward goal achievement with minimal supervision in
a fast paced environment
* Knowledge of ISO 9000 requirements
