We are using 6.1 and I am need to understand how Vantage differs
between an item On Hold and set to Run Out. The definition within
Vantage of On Hold is that items cannot be made or purchased. Run
Out is described as parts can be used if in stock, but not
purchased. Will On Hold allow the parts to be used if in stock? I
would have thought "No" until I read the Help file.
Regardless of the answer above, what is the best way to manage
a "need to review before reordering" situation? Engineering would
like to use the Run Out feature to flag for this, but I am concerned
that we would just run out of parts without any alert to
Engineering, Purchasing or Production.
Suggestions??
