Holding a spot in the schedule

You must have at least one operation on the job, but then you can schedule it, and un-engineer it after scheduling.

Subject: [Vantage] Holding a spot in the schedule

Is there a way to not have to check the "engineered" box on a job to get the job onto the schedule to hold a spot for production and provide information to purchasing so materials can be ordered to meet our long lead times. These jobs haven't fully completed our engineering process, but we know when we will be ready for production and want to hold a spot in the schedule.
