How can I capture the non production related hours?
Not exactly sure what you’re asking… but, I’m assuming you mean your operators/employees are not actively working on a production job and you want to “capture” that time… then they should be creating indirect labor entries (“Start Indirect” button, if they’re using MES).
If that’s not what you mean, can you provide more details on what you’re looking for?
That’s a pretty open-ended question. What people, what are they doing, what do you want to do with the data you capture?
Capturing Engineering time is different than capturing Shipping/Receiving time, and there are lots of other different situations too.
Thanks, I need to capture hour when for some reasons, the supervisor asks the crew members to help with non directly production related activities. Is there any way to have different types of indirect? Plus, start indirect on MES is grayed out. Is there any access setup for it please?
Thank, please see the above respond.
Yes, you can (and must) define your various indirect codes in Indirect Labor Code Maintenance. That will be the list the employees can choose from.
Not sure if that could be why your button is not active, but I would have assumed the button would work but then you just wouldn’t have any codes for the employee to choose from.
Is your form customized at all? Just curious if, you’re not using indirect labor entries currently, somebody customized the form to disable the button.
There is also a data rule on the form that disables the button based on various criteria. Possible one of those conditions are true in your case?
I should also note that you need to set up GL Control Code(s) as well.
Type: Indirect Labor
Then you can assign the GL Code to corresponding Indirect Labor Codes so when an employee chooses a specific indirect code (reason), the labor costs will redirect to the proper GL.
Thanks David, let me take a look if there is any customization here. Also, we should create the codes.
Thanks again
I’ll get back to you on this.
Thanks
