I need to make the default value for the log in screen be set to Epicor basic, and can not figure out how to change it. It can either be via the URL or a setting on the Epicor server.
What version and client is this? (Browser or local install?)
I have 2023.2 and we use Azure in the browser, so I see this:
Anyway, are you wanting only basic auth, or just that to be the default?
I assume it’s still in the config file (on the server), like it was locally before. But honestly I don’t know.
we don’t support SSO, and we are on an older Epicor version (11.2.200/2022.2.23) and its a local on-prem install.
either making default or the only option works, do you know where in the config file it would be by chance so i can tell me boss to edit it?
If that doesn’t work and you’re using the browser, try replacing the suffix of your URL to this:
/login?previousUrl=%2Fhome&authMethod=basic
Funnily enough i tried that already, by asking ChatGPT and providing the HTML to it. unfortunately it did not appear to do anything.
Huh… I just tested that also and you’re right. Also, some initial testing with the sysconfig file didn’t seem to make a difference either… maybe it needs a reboot after changing it. OR maybe it’s something cached in the browser.
The issue with changing it at the sysconfig file level is that one day there won’t BE a sysconfig file…
Well we have no plan of ever upgrading from the current version we are one, do to compatibility issues with our heavily customized Configurators. Ill have my boss look into the config file.
Thanks
Pigs flew here. They can fly where you are too.
Let your boss know that .NET 6 goes end of life this November. At some point, security vulnerabilities will become an issue.
