How do I get to Developer Mode in 2025.2?

We’re starting our upgrade path from 10.2.700 to 2025.2. We are (obviously) on-premise. My plan is to upgrade to 2025.2 verifying that all of our existing classic screens work and then start uplifting into the browser UI business process by business process.

So far, we have a test instance up and running (including database upgrade, etc.). I would like to starting working through all of our existing customizations to ensure that they work as expected. When I went to go turn on “Developer Mode” like I’m used to in 10.2.700, the option is gone. I tried different web searches/AI chats and nothing that it suggested has worked yet. Some things I’ve tried are: added some items to my .sysconfig, tried hitting “Shift” when selecting a menu option and ensured that I have the correct permissions (I do).

I know that this is the last release supporting these customizations so maybe it is purposefully obfuscated? I would love to be able to tweak the customizations for this in-between step if possible.

Any advice would be appreciated!

Its been a while. But I think Developer Mode may have been turned on from the main overflow menu on your quick launch (home) screen. (3-dots in the upper right-hand corner).

I’m in the cloud and don’t have a working client anymore… but I’m pretty sure that’s where I would turn it on.

I should add, since you’re working in a newer “test instance”… make sure your user profile has customization priviledges in that environment.
