I have upgraded customizations from the original version 8.03.00 to
8.03.404b and have just started today on 8.30.405. During that time the
only major changes I had to make to customizations were from version
8.03.305x to 8.03.403x. There were several new fields added to some of
the tables in the schema change. Consequently, some of the base UI
panels changed to accommodate those new fields. This caused some of my
user defined fields to be hidden or off the screen. It took me a
couple of days to rearrange those fields. Other than that, most of the
upgrades have gone pretty smooth. I have actually had more issues with
reports, especially ODBC reports than I have had with customizations.

Honestly, the ability to make customizations is of great benefit for us.
It has enabled us to implement many features that otherwise would have
not been available.

My company has been using Vantage for about a year and a half. Although
we have created a number of custom reports (both ODBC and XML) which are
serving us well, we have not introduced any custom logic to our screens.

I'd be interested to get some general feedback from the group on their
customizations -- particularly how easy or difficult it has been to
migrate your customizations when upgrading to a new version of Vantage.

Thanks,
