How to create searchable field in tracker that contains text in

Not sure you explained this correctly... I am kida lost... but you can make
a BAQ with a LIke field to search a MATCHES(*) within a field.

Has anyone created (or know if it can be done) a searchable field in a tracker that can then be used to search a field in the database view for the text that is in the tracker field? I want to search on a specific field (column) and want to return all rows where the text is contained in the database field.
