How to determine historical cost of a part

Hi Tony,

Would you happen to have any examples of how you did this?

Thanks Tony.

Would you happen to have anything that you can share that shows how you did the calculations from day one?

Joe,
I have done this with version 8.
I don't know how different parttran is from 8 to 9, or if there's anything that makes the chore easier, but just start at day one and calculate cost up to the day you define. I don't know of any other way to do it.
I think this is why the standard Stock Status report takes so long to run.
I have not had to do this with any lot costed parts, so I am not sure if that changes anything.

Hello,

I need to compare the cost of inventory as it was in 2011 to what it is

now.

Almost all of our parts have either FIFO or Lot FIFO as the cost method.

We are on Epicor 9.04.507A.

Is there a way to do this?

Off the top of my head, I can't see how I could do this without

processing PartTran records buy either taking today's cost and rolling

back any cost adjustments or taking the cost on day one of Epicor and

rolling forward all cost adjustments.

I'm hoping someone has already done this before and can shed some light

on how they did it. Fingers crossed. :)
