How to filter dataset in Epicor BO Method?

Is there a way to add a Filter to the underlying BO method that display data to the grid. We want to filter the data in CRM Task List by certain begginging values lets say only display values where key1 begins like 'AB' and Sorted by Due date ascending order.
Code Examples will be highly appreciated.
