How to fix A/P one-sided G/L posting?

Is there a date showing in the Check Register? You could then create the fiscal period for this period.

The debit/expense side of the entry posted to Retained Earnings for some date prior to 2007 when we implemented Vantage. We don't know the date in la-la land because we get a message that says something like we can't look at any date prior to established fiscal periods. When we look at the transaction in A/P, all dates appear to be correct. However, a query suggests that no posting occurred and no check number was assigned. But you can run an A/P check register and the check is listed. Has anyone run across this before and how can we fix it?
