How to handle excess material from sub-contract operation

I would recommend treating the material as dimensionally tracked, and
receive to the appropriate dimensions.

Subject: [Vantage] How to handle excess material from sub-contract
operation.

A piece of bar stock is issued to a job with a sub-contract operation to
core the bar. The part number for the job is set up for the cylinder
generated from the coring process. The residual core has also been
assigned a part number. Anyone know of a good way to receive the core
back into stock that will relieve the cost of the core from the job and
move to the core part number in stock with cost attached.
