Does anyone know if there is a way in Vantage to determine what users
are currently logged onto Vantage?

Thanks,

Steve
As far as I know, on 4.0 there is now way to do this from within Vantage.
However, if you go into ProMon on the server, you can see a list of all
users logged onto Progress.
Use promon. This gives you the option to see when they logged on and to
kick users off. Works very well

I'd like Promon to tell me who is using Vantage and who is using Report
Builder. I almost killed a user's RB session when I saw two progress
licenses being used by the same user. I informed him he had two Vantage
sessions open and he replied that one of them was RB. Anyone know how to
distinguish between the two?

I heard that this was going to be available in version 5.

Where is ProMon found and is there documentation within Progress for it? I
assume it is a standard tool that came with Vantage/Progress but I have not
been able to find how to run it despite the frequent mention of it in group
posts.

It is a Standard tool, but you have to do a little bit of work to create it.
Here are the instructions for setting promon up from the epicor website...

On the NT Server using Windows Explorer, do the following:

1) Go to C:\Epicor\Progress\Bin, click on the bin folder to display it's
contents.

2) Right mouse click on the _mprshut.exe and choose "Create Shortcut"

3) Right mouse click on the newly created shortcut and choose "Properties"

4) Choose the Shortcut Tab

5) Add to the end of the target line: -0 c:\epicor\vantage\db\vantage.db
(*NOTE: -0 is a digit zero)

6) Apply the changes and click OK

7) Rename the new shortcut to PROMON

8) Copy and Paste (Do not drag) the PROMON icon to the desktop.

In System Management > Utilities > Connected Users in 5.00, You have the
ability to view connected users and records that they have locked. There is
a disconnect option to disconnect the user if you are at the server. It's a
lot more user friendly than Promon.
