I am wondering if you have your DMR's set up correctly in the system. This
is just an idea but I would run an inventory/wip report for the day that
this transaction occurred and show offsetting accounts and see how it hits
the ledger.

My original problem has gotten diverted into discussions on 5.0, exchange
servers, etc. Can anyone help me with the following:

Since upgrading (?) to 4.0 we have had several problems -- at least we think
they are problems:

1. WIP report doubles material on some jobs -- when you look at job tracker
or print production detail the cost is correct but when you print WIP the
material cost is wrong. (Found the cause -- DRM-Mtl not being subtracted on
the report)

2. Manufacturing Suggestions -- they keep returning even though we have not
changed the sales order. Does the manufacturing suggestion program run
through all sales orders when a new one is created? We cleaned this all up
when we went from 3.0 to 4.0 (we are on the latest patch) and now the
invalid ones are back again. We are not changing sales orders that appear
on the
screen.

Thanks for any help!

Sandy

Sandy:
As I replied the first time you asked:

Re: your Also,:

Are you issueing material before or after you ship MTO jobs? Are you using Average or Standard costing? Are you manually
receiving MTS jobs to stock, or auto-receiving?

These may all make an impact on your material costs.

Rick,

The costs themselves are fine -- I can see $650 as a cost and a DMR-
MTL for $650 and a MTL-DMR for $650. The last two should net to $0
leaving a cost of $650 on the job. They do in job tracker and
production detail but in the WIP report it prints $1300 as material
cost. This is only for jobs that have a DMR transaction on them. I
guess the question I am asking is have others noticed this or is it
just us. In answer to your questions -- we are issuing material
before we ship MTO jobs, using Average costing and we are manually
receiving MTS jobs to stock not auto-receiving. Thanks!
