Importing Data From A File?

Darren

Apologies, you're quite right, but it isn't listed in Licence Configuration
as a separate module.

Chris,

I would guess that you or someone has purchased the program/utility from
Epicor to allow this option to be visible. I do not have this available on
my menu.

Hi all...

I was just curious if it is possible to import data directly from a comma delimited file into Vantage. It would save us almost a day's work for us to just import the file instead of manually entering each piece of data in to Vantage. I'm not sure of exactly what kind of data or where it is supposed to go yet but I would like to know if it is even possible? Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks!!!

It *should* be easily doable.

Instead Epicor highly discourages it. If you're really intent on doing it,
they will sell you a utility for ~$2500 that can import to many of the
tables. Another $2500 piece will do the Part master and ABOM tables. I
think I still have the .Doc files explaining them, if you'd like.

Gary,

Yes, if you have ProVision and know how to use it.

Don't forget to look at GROUND CONTROL a windows macro utility. It can read
from a text file and you can program it to populate a vantage screen.
However my guess is you would spend 2 days to program it to do one day worth
of work.

Hello All

I may be missing a beat somewhere, but doesn't Master File Import provide
this facility (System Management>Utilities>Master File Import)?
