That is essentially what I was planning to do. So far I have been
successful in the test database and will be doing some more trial runs
with the actual part lists that we need changed before I do this to
the live data. (over the weekend after a fresh backup, just in case...)
Here's my procedures:
1. Connect to the database via Access.
2. Open the PartRev table and filter by desired part number(s).
3. Highlight entries, copy and paste into Excel.
4. Rename Company field in Excel and copy back to clipboard.
5. Do a paste append in Access.
6. Repeat steps three through five using the PartOpr and PartMtl tables.
This leaves all of the original data intact and adds the extra records
needed to import methods from within the new company.
