Sounds like your sorting on the part description field, try creating a
calculated field substring(part.partdescription,1,30) then sorting on that.

Trying to edit a report that lists parts beginning with a string.
Keep getting "index value is too long". Only using the part table.

anything.....print preview of a RB report returns "Database Request
failed. Index value is too long (141). Simple report, list parts in
a specific part class. Some work, others do not. Any ideas?
