We are trying to input hours into a part’s BOO. We see where to put the production standard hours for labor, but where is the entry for burden hours? Our burden hours and labor hours are not necessarily the same.
I am very confused on this front. Any help would be appreciated.
Burden is either percent or fixed based on production hours and it is set at Resource Group/Resource. But it can be overwritten in Time and Expense Entry
So there is no way to set a standard of burden hours on the BOO?
Hi, it is probably best to give some examples. There are potentially many ways.
All of these parts are set up pretty much the same way.
They will have 11 operations, 50 and 110 are backflush points. The labor hours will be put in the BOO spread out amongst the operations.
The problem is when the part has a standard of 65 hours of labor but 80 hours of burden due to the fact that the part sits in a heat treat oven for 15 hours without anyone directly working or putting labor to it. We cannot input those 15hrs of burden anywhere to indicate that there are more burden than labor hours.
The other thing is that this company is not doing accurate time entries and will only be using standard hours that are preemptively entered. The parts are set up as Quantity entry only at the backflush points because we don’t want anyone changing the hours that are setup because it is a standard.
You may need to use % of Labour hours in this case. Please try that.
