Insight's...After the Fact

Hey Rob, I think we met when you were asking a hundred questions at the Craps table and making the stick nervous with your beverage. Good times my friend.

Collaborating brother...Collaborating!!!

Well, I haven't seen this post started yet so I thought I would kick it off. Maybe those that did have the opportunity to attend can help fill in the blanks for those who didn't.

Once again I found Insight's (Perspectives) to be steller. I enjoyed the labs this year. Those I attended seemed to bring something new rather than the same lab from last year or the year before. I really enjoyed the EUG sessions that had real-world end users present. A big shout-out to Vic Drecchio and Rob Bucek on their presentations, which I was fortunate enough to attend. And another shout-out to Jose Gomez on his presentation, which, sadly, I did not get a chance to attend because I was double booked. However, I heard Jose knocked it out of the park.

And, to my new contacts, it was great meeting everyone and putting a face with the name.

Looking forward to next year!

Jeff
Thanks, Jeff! It was awesome. I *love* the EUG presentations. Peter
Diamandis' keynote was inspiring, too. Frankly, next year, Epicor, you can
drop the Executives' presentations. Bring TED in for another keynote
instead. I'm still stuck on the Exec saying "DONE DONE" in regard to .700
and that they were only permitting releases that were DONE. DONE. to be
released to the public. I wished one of you 9.x'ers would have raised your
hand. :-)

Jose and John, sorry I missed out on your presentation..I heard it was
stellar, as usual. I would have attended but I had some guy fall 40' into a
vat of nitric acid.

I was told that approx 950 manufacturing customers were present this year
(not counting retail, etc). That was a record # I'm told. That's awesome.

Given the size of Insights now, I really don't see many venue
options.(thankfully) Vegas is by far the largest convention space in the
country. If a beggar could be a chooser for a moment, I'd love to see
Insights 2013 back in Vegas but at a nicer hotel (Venetian, MGM, Bellagio,
MGM City Center). Plus, relatively speaking, Vegas is cheap in comparison
to other cities in many aspects. But I bet Epicor gets a heck of a deal at
CP. At least CP is in a great location.

I like the venue better than Orlando, however, Orlando's Tuesday night party
last year was amazing. Due to Margaritaville I didn't see Dana Carvey this
year, but I was told he was awesome.

It was great seeing everyone again. I'm still wishing it was last week
right now.. Perhaps we could do these semi-annually? :-)

For the Epicor employees lurking, You all did a helluva job putting this all
together!

.now back to reality.

Well, I haven't seen this post started yet so I thought I would kick it off.
Maybe those that did have the opportunity to attend can help fill in the
blanks for those who didn't.

Once again I found Insight's (Perspectives) to be steller. I enjoyed the
labs this year. Those I attended seemed to bring something new rather than
the same lab from last year or the year before. I really enjoyed the EUG
sessions that had real-world end users present. A big shout-out to Vic
Drecchio and Rob Bucek on their presentations, which I was fortunate enough
to attend. And another shout-out to Jose Gomez on his presentation, which,
sadly, I did not get a chance to attend because I was double booked.
However, I heard Jose knocked it out of the park.

And, to my new contacts, it was great meeting everyone and putting a face
with the name.

Looking forward to next year!

Jeff

I agree with you Vic on the venue. I was nervous about the size, with the merger and all. Honestly, I really didn't notice a big difference in the amount of people. I have always enjoyed Caesar's because I think the layout is great for this event. I remember the event at the Dolphin Resort in Disney. Less people and you couldn't get out of anybody's way. Although, it is tough to beat the Tuesday night party in Orlando. However, I was pleasantly surprised with Dana Carvey. I could not stop crying. I'm not a gambler (although that Craps table at Margaritaville was good to me) but Vegas is just a great place.

Yes, have wished many times it was last week again. Looking forward to Insight's next year.

Had a great time at Insights! Most of the presentations were awesome! Jose
and John were great J.now if I can figure out the code they were
demonstrating ;) I heard someone say that the next Insights may be in
Nashville.

I hear some people are having trouble downloading some of the presentation
slides. I haven't had a chance to check on the ones I want yet.

I agree with you Vic on the venue. I was nervous about the size, with the
merger and all. Honestly, I really didn't notice a big difference in the
amount of people. I have always enjoyed Caesar's because I think the layout
is great for this event. I remember the event at the Dolphin Resort in
Disney. Less people and you couldn't get out of anybody's way. Although, it
is tough to beat the Tuesday night party in Orlando. However, I was
pleasantly surprised with Dana Carvey. I could not stop crying. I'm not a
gambler (although that Craps table at Margaritaville was good to me) but
Vegas is just a great place.

Yes, have wished many times it was last week again. Looking forward to
Insight's next year.

Yes Jeff, I believe a great time was had by all! Largely due to the venue ;) After all, it's Vegas, how can we not have a great time. Hey Rob, even if you don't remember it, you definitely enjoyed the party Tuesday night, maybe too much! Even more impressive was that you made it to your presentation on Wednesday morning and you were upright! A big shout out to Jose and Vic on their presentations. The user presentations were awesome this year! The labs were also great and for the most part, only a couple I heard about were too full to be useful. Agreed, settling back in is difficult. As someone said in an email to me this week, I want a ground hog day!
