Insights Blank Title 120859

Coolest thing: how E10 looked and acted (fast as a thief and very clean).

Next coolest thing: talking to folks and finding out how they use various pieces in ways I hadn't thought of.

I agree that there should have been far more repeats of many sessions... I can count 6 or 8 I had to skip.

I don't get out that much (this was my first Insights), and I thought the hotel was pretty cool... next time it's there I'm bringing my wife. Moving it around is a good idea, probably gets greater attendance over time.

I would also like to have seen more demonstrations on the various add-on pieces. I went to a couple of customer-run sessions (including Chris Marsch's on Service Connect), but would like to have seen AgileShip, a good real-world Product Configurator, maybe some mobile/CRM.

Our IT Manager here is going with Office 365 instead of upgrading our own Exchange server... I'm thinking that in 2 years when we're ready to upgrade to E10 I'll strongly consider a cloud option if a viable one is available. Anyone else thinking that way?

I agree, I saw a glimpse of the GUI BPMs, and embedded BAQ's look very promising.

Manasa, wishful thinking. ;-)

I enjoyed the Upgrade Panels they had this year. It really shed the light
on why others may be struggling or have struggled getting to E9. I've been
live for 6 years and I have maybe 10 UI user-customizations and a dozen or
two BPMs. The size of my Progress DB is 2.6GB. I heard someone say they
had 700+ customizations and another guy say their SQL db was 85GB??? !!!
Wow. In hindsight, I can probably convert myself during the lunch hour.
;-)

Good stuff this year for sure, as always. Epicor did a helluva job as well
as EUG and Vendors.

See you all at Mandalay Bay for Insights 2014. Back in Vegas!

The only thing I would have changed IMO this year would be hotel location..
I absolutely love Nashville.. I'd just rather not be 10 miles and a 25$ cab
ride away from it; I'd love to be a block away from the fun. After a day or
two being herded around that claustrobic overpriced tourist-trap biosphere
at Gaylord, I was ready to get the heck out and explore the real Nashville.

Wasn't exactly in a presentation, but I learned from the service connect guys that you can generate a workflow automatically from a trace file. Then all you have to do is the mappings.

A girl can dream....Yep, I heard some of those stories and no wonder!

I agree on the tourist trap of the hotel, as nice as it was. I was somewhat surprised that they did not have many classes repeat like they did in previous years. It would have been nice to not be pigeon hold at certain times. But it was definitely a really good conference all around!

I paid $21.85 for self-parking at the convention center.

I enjoyed those Upgrade Panels as well. I was in the same one with the 700+ customizations and 85GB db.

One thing I would of enjoyed more would have been more DEMO sessions, rather than Fundamentals. The Fundamentals I get from the Educational PDFs. Would love to see 3rd party and Epicor Add On modules demo's to see if that is really what I need.

I agree about the location, 1st time to Nashville and I'd like to have

I didn't get to attend - did they say anything about a timeline for Epicor 10? Also, is it big infrastructure change we have heard rumour of (pure SQL and .NET, no ABL/Progress anymore)?
