Insite for E10 Install instructions?

Do you have a UPS rep? They gave us a subsidy to pay for some things…Computer, “Software”, scanners…

That sums it up lol we went with InSite when we went live per Epicor’s recommendation at the time. Big Mistake nothing but a pain and bugs that caused us to still use WorldShip (though those are finally after 3 years fixed)

Sorry I got the two confused!

I would go with Agile Ship. You don’t need to bring consulting on site to get it set up…It is very simple! Although I didn’t need them to do the install, I had them do it for me since it was included in my cost. They also included 4 hours of training…you don’t need it…

Think about your situation like this…

How many hours are you wasting by trying to get Insite working? Although it is indirect, there is still a cost associated. You could be working on something else.

How much are you going to pay to bring someone out for setting up Insite? (the cost of that alone will pay for Agile Ship…the product, install, and training.)

A couple things. How do I go about converting the existing data that's in the progress database in the E9 version to the new Sql E10 version.

Also when I begin the install, it's asking for sql server database, login, server etc and I'm not sure if I need to create a new database or if it's asking for the Epicor E10 database info.

Mostly because for the cost of it and if anything needs to be changed down the road you are pretty much locked into Insite doing the work for a ridiculous amount of money, it’s just feature lacking. Agile will do the reporting on your freight statistics (if you choose that package) that InSite isn’t even capable of. That and there is customizability in Agile that does not exist with InSite that again if you wanted done you would be paying out the butt in consulting costs. Of course all of that kind of stuff hinges on if you have in house development like we do. However InSite seems to be the only company that can do work on InSite software and their rate is well over 200/hr. Third party will be much lower.

How many hours are you wasting by trying to get Insite working? Although it is indirect, there is still a cost associated. You could be working on something else.

How much are you going to pay to bring someone out for setting up Insite? (the cost of that alone will pay for Agile Ship…the product, install, and training.)

My recommendation having dealt with InSite now for a while. Ditch it move to a more modern program like Agile.

A couple things. How do I go about converting the existing data that's in the progress database in the E9 version to the new Sql E10 version.

Also when I begin the install, it's asking for sql server database, login, server etc and I'm not sure if I need to create a new database or if it's asking for the Epicor E10 database info.

Has anybody out there been able to install Insite for E10? There doesn't seem to be any useful instructions on epicweb or included with the install cd.
