Install new test server - how to update prod DB for testing?

You are doing a hybrid of a new install and upgrade, so you’ll need two guides

From a high-level, after you restore your DB, you’ll

  1. Install 10.2.100 then 10.2.100.8 on your new testing server (chapter 2 through 3.3 NIG)
  2. Register the existing DB in the EAC as a 10.2.100 db. (chapter 4.1 NIG then instead of 4.2 NIG right-click on your SQL instance and register existing database)
  3. Upgrade the DB to 10.2.100.x schema level. (chapter 2.6 UG)
  4. Create a new appserver (chapter 5 NIG–NOTE: PLEASE remember to complete 5.2 or you’ll have issues later on)
  5. Log into the client and complete various actions like DB conversions (chapter 3.1.1 through 3.1.9 UG)
