Interesting problem

What I've done in similar scenarios is set up the assembly with a subcontract operation for the final assembly with the drop-shipped materials flagged "purchase direct". When the po's are received in the system the parts are issued directly to the job. When the sub-contract operation PO is received, the assembly is complete.
If it is a subassembly within a bigger job, you're good to go.
If the sub-assembly is going to stock, it must be received through "Job Receipt to Inventory".

Actually the parts will be supplied by a different Supplier and drop shipped to the Supplier building the finished product. We need the parts supplied by us to flow through Vantage on a Purchase Order and then shipped out. Currently, the finished part is in our system as a purchased part as well as the other parts. The major part of the assembly is being provided by finished good supplier. Has anyone run accross this situation before and if so how did you handle it?
