This fix also works for the CK3X.

Look on Intermec knowledge central, it may have an SR that will fix the issues you’re having with the display.  Some CK71s we demoed (and now use) had grid lines when connected to RD, which was easily fixed by installing SR12081600.  Unfortunately this may not apply to the CK3X, but there may be a similar one out there.

Any further discription on what a distorted screen is?  Stretched, resolution, askew?

We used to recommend our customers to buy an Intermec CK3
for use with the handheld module in Epicor 9.05.702A.

But the CK3 is not being made any more.
A customer that bought a recent model had to find out it
comes with a newer version of Windows Mobile, that has a
serious bug in its Remote Desktop Client, causing strange
stripes on the screen.

Did anyone _recently_ buy a handheld device that just works?

Thanks,
Pim
Slight correction, the model our customer bought is an Intermec CK3X.
With an X at the end. This appears to be a current model.

We've been able to test our CK3 and their CK3X in the same server
setup. Our old CK3 would work fine, where their CK3X would show
a distorted Epicor screen. All RDP settings were the same.

Thanks,
Pim

We have a line of CK3's that we've used since 2012.  We recently purchased a new unit to accommodate more employees, and it is a CK3X, and are not seeing the RDP issue that you describe.  Have you tried doing a reset?  Have you contacted Intermec support?  We've found them very helpful.
We have ten Symbol Motorolas 9090.  They are connected to our server for days without any problem.

Also we have two CK3's and what we hear are complains.  The main issue is frequent connectivity loss.
