Inventory Cost and demand

Haven't actually written a report like this but it is possible.

Where to start and go about it would depend on the version of
vantage, your costing methods and your job structure. V8 may have a
report.

If you are on v6 and depending on your costing model then;
For Part costs , use Tables , PART, PARTBIN, PARTLOT.

Your timing analysis depending on your job structure;

Job Oper, to get an due date. Jobmtl to get the part details and
quantity. Convert the date into a month. Then sum on the month.

Depending on your costing model, if you are using standard then it
will be easier. If you are using average / lot then it will be
slightly more complicated as the jobmtl doesn't hold lot assignment
at the planning stage.

I am trying to create a report that gives me the amount of inventory in
dollars. And then, assuming that we do not buy anymore material, I
want to have a projected dollar value of inventory every month as it is
being consumed so we can see just how much inventory we should have
every month and when we can expect to reach a certain dollar value.

If we assume that no more material is to be purchased, we can see the
trend of our inventory value decline as the current jobs consume the
inventory.

Does Vantage have a report like this? Has anybody created one like
this?

Can somebody give me a direction to go because I don't have any idea
how I could tackle this report.

Thanks,
Jasper
