Inventory Problems

Any commonality to the Parts that added, Purchased or Manufactured? Stock or
Non-Stock? Is it in a Bin that is marked Not Nettable?

Were they entered against the proper Tag, or if a Blank Tag was used because
it was in a different Bin then was the original Tag zero'd out.

Did you run the Returned \ Voided Tag Report to make sure everything was
entered?

Scott

Oops, my bad...the term roll-up was used here(this company)however I
have
always and Vantage labels this process as post.
Yes we did the procedure you detailed.
I should also that it was only a percentage of the parts that added
instead of overriding with the new count. Looks like about 15% but
the audit is still ongoing.

We just did a full Physical Inventory for year end. This is the first
time I have been involved with a pure by the book Vantage Inventory.
(I have always extracted the count sheets and made the adjustments
manually via Quantity Adjustment). The problem started when we did the
roll-up. The roll up added the counted quantity from the count sheets
to the pre-inventory quantity. So if Stock Status Report showed 10
parts at inventory start and the count tag showed 5 actual parts when
the roll up was performed the Stock Status Report now shows 15 parts
in stock instead of 5. Does anyone know what went wrong? The folks
here insist that this is the way they have always done it here and
this is a new problem. We are on version 8.03.305i

What do you mean by Roll-Up? Do you mean when it was Posted?

Did you go through the Procedure of creating the Count Group, Generate Tags,
Enter Count against those Tags, Confirm and Fix any Variances and then Post?

Scott's right. If you create a Count Group, it will freeze the current
inventory values and then only post the difference between the two counts. Did
you jump the gun on the Start Count? Did you do it after all transactions were
entered before the count?
