First, verify that you have "Average" costing method selected in the Part Maintenance file for the part.

Second, verify that you changed the cost in the correct column (average) in the Cost Adjustment program.

Can anyone tell me why when I look at the stock status report I get a
really high unit cost even after I have posted a cost adjustment to
correct the problem. I am using the average costing method and I did
rerun the COS/WIP Capture Activity. Any help would be appreciated!

We interface inventory transactions with the General Ledger. We have
approximately 4,000 SKU, use average costing, and we definitely keep track
of quantity on hand.

We do interface our inventory and G/L. Currently we are not tracking any
specific inventory or tooling

We use the inventory/GL interface in Vantage. For the most part everything
works smoothly. Since we are on Average Costing there are some
reconciliation issues but for the most part we are satisfied. The majority
of our problems relate to human error in following procedures.

Our inventory is about 3700 different items, mostly low value on an
individual basis, tracked by quantity and dollars. We do not inventory our
tooling items.
