Inventory - sheets of steel

I buy Alum T & J plate & track it by thickness. U/M is SF-Square
Feet. Conversion from plate (or sheet) is done on the P/O. On-hand is
depleted by SF.

Hello All-

Thanks for all of you who responded to my prior message regarding my
inability to print financials in 4.0 - I've now gotten it to work!

My next question/problem regards inventory. We, like hopefully some of you,
buy sheets of aluminum, steel, etc. and are charged by cwt. (hundred
weight). In our current system, we use an avg. weight per sheet in order to
cost our inventory (we use the cwt. price along with the actual number of
sheets). I have reviewed the PART MAINTENANCE screen and have not yet been
able to figure out how we can maintain this same process without having to
manually multiply the avg. weight per sheet by the cwt. price in order to
arrive at a cost per sheet. Any suggestions? I assume I'm missing
something obvious!

Thanks for your assistance!
