Fellow Users,

We at Bell Manufacturing have been on Vantage for approx. 7 months.
We are not using the Inventory Interface.

I am interested in talking with other users about valuation issues
that surround outsourced products purchased for resale and the timing
issues that occur when our vendors do not get all the costs to us in
a timely manner.

An example of this for Bell is when we purchase goods from Hong
Kong for resale. We have our unit costs from the vendor almost
immediately but the UPS CustomHouse charges can be 30-40 days in
arriving and we do not have a good way to estimate what they might
be.

My general questions are:
1. Do users use the vendor price + an estimate of freight-in and call
it good ?? or

2. Do users use the vendor price + wait to update the freight-in
knowing that reporting an GM will be off early but correct later ???

Any opinions on practical side vs GAAP and the timing issues that
will occur with reporting in Vantage would be welcomed. Please call
me at 207-784-2961 ext. 206. I am available from 8:00am to 5:00pm M-
F E.S.T.

Thank you in advance for taking some time to chat. Ron Paradis
