Invoice edits Blank Title 83846

After the invoice is created, it is editable because the information
could change between Order Entry-Shipping-invoicing. After the invoice
is posted, there should be no changes made. That would be a business
process error.

If necessary, you would do an RMA/ Credit Memo, post it, apply the
Credit to the original invoice and then reship / recreate the invoice.

We are looking for a method to keep some of the non-financial invoice
fields editable after posting. Fields such as:

PO
Terms
credit card fields
tax sales rate
salesperson
Invoice comments

You would think would all/some be editable after the invoice has been
created. Does anyone have any ideas other than voiding and recreating
the invoice.

Thanks,
Dave

I can't say about the other fields, but we did a mod for the salesperson field. It uses a combination of the memo table, customizations, and BPM to make updates/changes to the invoice salesperson field.

There are only a couple of fields that are suppose to be editable after an invoice has been posted, I think the salesperson and comments are suppose to be two of them, but it has been broken ever since I can remember. I think 409 is suppose to fix this. As far as the other fields go (specially the credit card and tax sales rate fields), I think changeing them would me much harder and in my opinion a bad idea.
