Iowa State Withholding Tax

Darren -

When I worked for Technical Services, Inc. in Ames, Iowa, on 6.1, I did check the rates & seemed to be close, but they don't round to nearest $ as recommended, nor as required for federal withholding, which I sent them the tax booklets for Federal & State that noted as such. Requested probably over a year ago, and as of June, when I left Technical Services, Inc., even that wasn't fixed. I would definitely call in to Epicor, and possibly see if there is any maintenance or updates that may fix your issue. I put the request for tax fix on payroll in on both 6.1 and 8 versions at the time. I have knowledge that very few, 10% or less of their clients use their payroll system, as well, so that may impact their fix rate, although I would think that IRS potential complaints would as well.

Subject: [Vantage] Iowa State Withholding Tax

Has anyone taken the time to manually calculate the state withholding to
check it with Vantage? We just had an employees complain that they got a
raise and they got only $6 of it on their check. So we started digging into
it and the state taxes rose from 33.04 to 49.90, while the fed taxes only
went up 94.50 to 100.38. I calculate the taxes manually and state taxes
should have been 41.36 before the raise and 43.61 after. We pay weekly and
this person has an extra $8.50 taken out for state taxes with 0 exemptions.
Any suggestions. I've double checked the tax tables and they are keyed
correctly. Vantage version 5.1

Thanks
