Is the Scheduling Calendar no longer a required field on Resource Groups?

Is the Scheduling Calendar no longer a required field on Resource Groups? In E10 one cannot save a Resource Group without assigning a scheduling calendar. In Kinetic (2023.2) is not required to save the record.

It now inherits from the Company’s default calendar if it is not assigned explicitly.

The Field Help says this:
Identifies the production calendar for this Resource Group. If this equals “”, then the ProdCal record is the Company Level production calendar.
