I have been asked if it possible to display a field that lets users know if a previous operation step has been completed when they see a later operation on a report. For example, we have 3 operations for a sub-assembly part- OP 10 is Saw, OP20 is Milling and OP 30 is Welding. Each step is a different department and therefore, different supervisors run reports for their department. The Mill supervisor is looking for something that would let him know the saw op was completed if there is such a field on a job oper record for the Mill operation about the previous op (saw OP). Is there such a a field?
Each operation has a flag that gets set to true once the op is complete. The flag is JobOper.OpComplete. You can also use LaborDtl table to tell how much labor has been submitted for a job. I often use this instead of op complete so that I can tell an operation started.
I believe that flag is for the current operation. I am looking for a flag that would let us know the status of the previous operation. I am guessing that I will have to go about calculating something for this. Thank you.
Previous Operation information is not available on the Operation screen but assuming they are in Job Tracker they could just review the prior Operation on the Operation screen to see the status. Also, the Operations in the Job tree should also show if the prior Operation is complete
I was looking to pull the information from the tables for reporting purposes so the screen data wouldn’t be helpful.
You’ll want to do a query(BAQ or LINQ) to take the current OprSeq, and find the maximum OprSeq that is less than that value, and check OpComplete on that.
Thank you. I will give that a try.
