Good Day Dale:

To my surprise, for many PartTran records BeginQty and EndQty are
zero.
That is because, as the data dictionary explains: """"On Hand
Quantity before the part costing calculations were run""". So STK-CUST
is all zero's because the cost is not changed ( averaged).

There is nothing that I know of. I have never tried the following but
some possible ideas:

1 Select records on BeginQty not equal to AfterQty
2 Create a BPM(may be more than one) that stores the Difference between
BeginQty and AfterQty in a number field. Then select if Number not equal
to zero.

Good Day:

Is there a field in PartTran file (or other linked file) that marks
the Transaction as affecting inventory?
There is Tran-Type- STK-CUS, STK-MTL, etc, but there are many that
affect the QOH.
There is Tran-Class - A,D,I etc - that lump Tran-Types together, but
not in the correct way.

What I want is a field, with one value that will limit the PartTran
records to ones that affect QOH. I can them sum up the changes and get
the detail of Inventory Value change.

What I need it for is a BAQ for the PartTran file which will limit
the records to ones that change the QOH, then prompt for a range of
dates, so I can find out why inventory went up in February by Part#.

I just did it by using Stock-Status for 2/1 ( actually 1/31 end of
day) and 2/28; but comparing is difficult because each list has Part#'s
the other does not which leads to "Null" ( not zero) values which ACCESS
and Excell have real problems with.

I don't know the answer to your question as you have asked it, but I do know of a solution in Excel. You can write your formula using IFERROR to eliminate errors. For example, if your formula is dividing cell B1 by cell C1, you would enter =IFERROR(+B1/C1,0)

Another solution would be to use conditional formatting and highlight cells with errors. You would then need to sort on those cells to eliminate them; an extra step, I know, but it does work.
