Is there a step-by-step exercise available to learn how to write a form and a report?

Dear All

I am a new user and would like to learn how to amend a form or write a report with step-by-step exercises.

Could someone suggest some documents or links for my reference?

Regards
Edmund

Welcome to the forum!!

There are some ā€œcoursesā€ in the Epicor Learning Center. Do you have access there?

You can browse by Course and search for ā€œSSRSā€ to get started with a few.

There is also a ā€œFoundation Toolsā€ document that covers some of this as well. Not sure if it’s been updated to Kinetic or if its still in Classic, but it may cover the same scenarios as the Learning Center courses.

I would start with those courses to get your feet wet, then search the forum here as there are a TON of posts on customizing reports. But, watching the videos first will help you figure out what you may want/need to search for here on the forum.

Then if you need help with a specific issue… feel free to ask on here and someone will help you out!

I’ve never watched those before to see how useful they would be, thanks for sharing the tip! I have users wanting to learn these things so I’m glad to know the ELC has this content.

They’re probably VERY generic. I think I watched them very early on. But we also had a live training session with an Epicor consultant during implementation. I know nobody wants to pay extra money if not needed, but it was worth it to have a knowledgeable trainer and to be able to ask questions as you work through it. Not sure of the cost as we had built the consultant training hours into our implementation budget.

I would recommend at least inquiring/exploring the costs for this type of session.

The Application Studio ones are great for the fundamentals, IMHO.

When I reviewed the recording of the training provided by the trainer, I noticed that in the first half hour, someone requested him to fix the volume because the user couldn’t hear clearly. While he was teaching, I observed that he seemed to be configuring something, but it was not successful at first. After one hour, it appeared that he had successfully configured something. I’m not sure if there is a difference between ā€˜on-premise’ and ā€˜on cloud (private),’ but it seems he was not well-prepared; he did not set up or test the environment to ensure it was ready for training.

Yeah, I’d ask for my money back. That’s unacceptable.

Oh, interesting. I wasn’t talking about paid videos. did you see these?

yeah I was thinking that’s what you were talking about.

I can see adding a Logo and uploading a custom SSRS report style.

Let me find the first two items.
