Instead of linking 8-10 documents & pictures to a job, is there a way to put in an attachment link that points to a folder on the network that contains all the files for the job?

Yes, but not easily. It worked better in Vantage 6, its possible but a
multi-step process in 9.05.

Create a new Document Association with extension \ (yes, just a
backslash) and view command of: explorer.exe "&1"

Attach a single document in the folder you want - it will create a link
to eg X:\Stuff\whatever.PDF

In External File Reference, find that link (it will be the highest#) and
change the filename to X:\Stuff\

Now opening that attachment will open windows explorer right at that
folder.

Chris,

I was working on a different way of doing this thru a BUTTON added as a
form customization which would dynamically read the Job Number and path
you to that folder name using Explorer.exe. Then you would not have to
create a DUMMY link with each job.

Vantage 6.1

Customize the Part Tracker Screen, Add a Button

SHELLEXEC explorer.exe /root,
S:\{CustNo.Scrvalue}\{Part.SearchWord.Scrvalue}

Epicor9

Customize say the Job Tracker Screen, Add a Button
"Open the Job Folder"

Process.Start ("explorer.exe", "/root, S:\")

Sorry, this is as far as I got. I didn't figure out the
dynamic part of inserting the Job Number from the form.
