Is Vantage 6.1 compatible with Windows 2008 Virtual

I tried to load 6.1 on a 2008 R2 (which is 64bit only) and it was a no go. However, I never tried on the original 2008 non-R2 build. I'm betting the limited ability to run on a 64-bit platform for 6.1 might mean if you try on the 32-bit version of 2008 it may work. I have run Windows 2003 in a VMWare guest for Vantage 5.0 and 6.1 without problems. Also, 6.1 in a Windows 2003 guest on a 2008 R2 hyper-v host without problems. I've had better performance on the hyper-v than vmware. If you want to upgrade eventually to Epicor 9, doing a 2003 VM on a 2008 host is a good way to go if your hardware is aging itself.

I was wondering if anyone has installed Vantage 6.1 on Windows 2008 box
with VMware?

I would like to know if this is possible.

Thank you,

Tamara
