We cannot close work orders in a timely manner because of receiving
invoices from our subcontractors. The problem we are facing is when
we complete work orders at less than production quantity the
difference between the completion quantity and the production
quantity remains in WIP. This quantity remaining in WIP has masked
the need to generate a work order to cover remaining requirements.
Two questions. 1. How do other people handle this. 2. Is there a
field I can use in report builder to see what is in WIP.

We have the same issue here. We have made our own report builder report for
Wip and when jobs are completed on the floor we make the jobs complete but not
closed these complete jobs show at the bottom of the report with their own
completed job(s) total. When all of the sub's have sent in the invoices then we close
the jobs. I hope this helps.

manufacturing links comes from.

For the bottom left browse it's JobProd.ShippedQty + JobProd.ReceivedQty.

For the top right browse of jobs it's JobHead.
ShippedQty + JobHead.ReceivedQty.
