The first question is how much did the 6 that shipped cost? You can
find that in the transaction history in part tracker.
Next question. How much did the 90 go into inventory for? all
transaction history
Next question. What is the sign of the variance? I think if you take
too much cost out of a job it is a minus and if you leave parts in a
job it's a plus.
If the job was complete and all the costs were in the cost of sales
for those six should be 94.26 leaving 1413.83 in the job. When you
put the 90 in stock at 19.98 the COS was 1798.20 taking 384.38 more
out of the job than was left.
These figures don't agree with yours. If the 1395.19 is plus then
most likely the 90 went into inventory at no cost and 6 shipped at
113.94 or 18.94 each. If it is minus then 2903.99 was taken out of
the job and I don't have a rational explanation.
Keep in mind that COS for the shipped pieces is calculated when
capture COS is run. The variance is calculated at that time also
against all closed jobs, purging them from WIP.
