Job Entry and BOM changes

As long as there hasn't been material transactions done, cleanest way is to delete the material details and 'get details' to bring in the updated material details of the method.

If transactions done (but not on the materials requiring change), focus on just deleting the materials that are being changed (and then the append will correctly update).

If transactions have been done on the parts that are screwed up, your in the soup. If it is simply a qty change (or relinking to another OP from current OP), just edit the job detials directly (and make sure any over/under issued materials that result are inventory reprocessed correctly). If it's a case where you need to remove a material that has transactions against it, reverse material issues and force the Issued Complete flag to checked. (Not sure that is natively allowed... It sticks in my head I have job entry customized to allow that but could be wrong... Simple customization if needed.) Then add (manually) your correct individual part(s) in the proper qty (& linked OP).

No easy solutions (particularly once transactions exist).

Subject: [Vantage] Job Entry and BOM changes

Hello -

Does anyone know the best way to handle Rev changes that affect the BOM in relation to the Job? For example, A part has a rev. change and the BOM is affected (qty change on a component or a component is added or deleted from BOM). A Job is already in the system for the part with the old rev and BOM. What is the best way to update the Materials on the Job? We've attempted to Get Details but that seems to only append info not replace. We can delete all the old material but that could be a tedious process if there are 100 components. We could Delete All but if there is a subassembly in the Materials list then we can't because that sub is linked to another Job. Any ideas? Hope that made sense. Thanks!
