Job Entry - Get Details

Good morning All. I'm curious to see if anyone else has ever experienced this little quirk. When creating a new job (in Job Entry), while doing the "Get Details" function - has Vista/Vantage ever pulled in the details of a totally different part? This does not happen all of the time, just a few fliers here and there.

Vista 8.03.409C (Progress)
I need to setup a BPM or customization where a user is not allowed to "Get Details" in a job if the production Qty = 0 in the job. Has anybody set something like this up or have an idea on how I can get this accomplished?

Thank you,

What are you actually trying to prevent, ability to produce against or create demand against the material? It might be easier to do it for the released checkbox.

Engineered might be a good trigger also. (In our environment, we may create engineered jobs weeks - and in the not so distance past, many months ahead of release to drive materials).

Unfortunately 'get details' is not a simple job entry BO method you can trap and stop (via client cusotmization or BPM). It is a subprocess program being called.

Thanks for the thoughts on this. I think I will be able to solve this issue via an alternate route.Â

Thanks again!
