In Epicor 9 we could change the job part number revision when the customer made a change and revised the print. It is not allowing us to change it or delete it. We were able to change it in Order entry. I tried removing the demand link and changing it but still no dice. I even went into customer part entry and deleted the part and still doesn’t allow me to change it.
We noticed this on subassemblies in the job as well. It will not allow us to change the revision.
Can’t say for sure… but a few things come to mind to TRY.
Are other fields editable? Or is it just the revision? There is a Checkbox in Company Config that prevent changes to engineered jobs. Not sure if that is applicable in your case, but I think that locks pretty much everything, not just the part revision.
Did you try unscheduling, unengineering, unreleasing… see if that unlocks the field?
Is the revision your looking to use approved and with an effective date prior to your job start date?
There’s a Use Part Rev checkbox on the Part record… I think that may dictate to use the most recently effective revision. If it is unchecked, then it will use the revision from the Sales Order.
Any BPMs in place that may lock the field?
You could also do a little research on Tracking Inventory by Revision for this part. I’m pretty sure when I was exploring that, it gave the ability to change revisions in Engineering Work Bench. I can’t remember if that applied to jobs or not.
Job is not scheduled or released.
You can type and edit the field it just doesn’t stick.
This part isn’t setup in the part master so there should not be anything forcing a revision.
I will pass this down the line to our IT and see what they come up with. Maybe a BPM or something like you mentioned.
