What reporting is available for employee hours by jobs in the system? What happens if an employee is logged into multiple jobs at once? How does this affect the COS: DL and COS: Burden? I’m assuming that the material is just issuance of material? I’ve never worked with jobs only MO’s based on BOM’s.
First time user of Epicor so I appreciate any feedback someone has?
We’ve customized a few dashboards to make job hours easier to find, so I’m not positive on that… but I have to assume the Job Status Report would show employee time entries by job.
Labor Edit Report will show employee time entries grouped by employee.
If you want to view in the system, hours can be seen in Job Entry/Tracker… also Job Status Dashboard.
There are some settings to consider here and is a pretty lengthy discussion. I would first recommend taking a look at the Job Costing Technical Reference Guide. It will walk you through various settings and how things are calculated. But even after reading that (its a real page turner)… there’s always some confusion and questions. But that should give a good base resource. You can find that document on EpicWeb.
Unfortunately, your first question is very loaded as there are a bunch of settings that impact how burden is calculated.
To start, if you go to Job Tracker and retrieve the labor transactions, you will see what was calculated for burden based off of the labor transaction. You can also print the Production Detail report for a Job to see what was applied against it. If you do not like the numbers you are seeing, we can dive into the settings to see what you currently have set up and possible alternatives.
I would say this is required reading if you want to know how Epicor handles the financial transactions and reporting for jobs, especially labor and burden. There are a lot of settings throughout the system that affect what ends up hitting the books and how job estimates are calculated.
The Labor Edit List report and the Employee Efficiency Report will show you labor reported against jobs if you’re wanting to look at more than one job or operation at a time.
