The client is in the Somerset area. They really need to get someone aboard
and productive asap, so they are ready to interview and hire someone
immediately. Given the fact that the holiday is approaching followed by the
usual summer slowdown, this is a great opportunity for someone who is
looking for a high quality, full time position. Unlike a lot of companies
who are dragging their feet, or feel the need to over interview instead of
pulling the trigger for the right candidate, this process will be quick.

We have a NJ based client who is looking for an Epicor Vantage ERP Analyst.
One of the best features as a full time, permanent employee complete with
benefits is the Analyst gets to work remotely. There will be one or two
required visits a year to the NJ headquarters. They mentioned a small amount
of travel to two other sites domestically, and they have a site in China
that will require a couple of visits over the next two years until they are
fully functional.

JOB PURPOSE/NARRATIVE:

Provide application support for requirements related to the company's Global
ERP systems in the U.S., Canada, and China. Assist in maximizing the
utilization of every facet in order to assist the company in attaining its
business goals and objectives.



RESPONSIBILITIES:

. Provide technical leadership and application development to support
the company's strategic goals and objectives utilizing Epicor Vantage for
all company locations in the U.S., Canada and China.

. Assist in maximizing the utilization of every facet in order to
assist the company in attaining its business goals and objectives.

. Participate in the creation and maintenance of new and existing
business process requirements and procedures with the company's Business
Process Owners.

. Participate in the definition and implementation of business
processes.

. Provide application programming solutions to address business
processes/requirements.

. Lead user testing and training for customizations and new
processes.

. Translate business process requirements to functional
specifications (technical solutions). Create and standardize this process to
include analysis, feasibility and practicality of solution, skill
requirements, and estimates on work effort.

. Maintain documentation relating to customizations and information
requirements per the Company's existing SharePoint based process.

. Design test plans with the Business Process Owners to ensure that
all fixes and approved customizations are adequately and thoroughly tested
in order to prevent false positives relating to testing approval.

. Perform ongoing ERP System release upgrade analysis including
assisting with the test plan creation and scheduling as new releases are
required. This includes ensuring that all existing customizations will
function on each new release prior to applying to the Production
environment. Create and maintain policies and procedures for this process,
including coordination of release upgrades with the company's Nantong, China
ERP System.

. Test fixes and perform post-resolution follow-ups with the Business
Process Owners to ensure problems have been adequately resolved.

. Resolve application and software issues related to the company's
ERP system.

. Record, track, and document the problem-solving process, including
all successful and unsuccessful decisions made, and actions taken, through
to final resolution.

. Communicate application problems and issues to Business Process
Owners, including action items and resolutions, alternatives, and closure of
the problem, question, or issue.

. Create Crystal Reports to address information requirements.

. Customize forms as required.



. Create Dashboards to support business requirements and projects.

. Create Queries to support business requirements and projects.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

. Minimum four years of technical leadership and application
development utilizing Epicor Vantage in a discrete manufacturing
environment. Includes a thorough knowledge of discrete manufacturing and
associated business processes (Production, Planning, Order Management,
Customer Relationship Management, Inventory Management, General Ledger,
Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Costing, Pricing, etc.).

. Must be able to demonstrate the ability to understand the Company's
business requirements and to provide solutions for these requirements
utilizing application development/programming.

. Must be able to demonstrate senior level ability in application
programming utilizing Visual Basic and C#.

. Must be able to demonstrate senior level ability regarding the
creation of Microsoft Excel Pivot tables and Macros. Includes the ability
to write stored procedures that retrieve information from SQL databases and
display in Microsoft Excel.

. Must be able to demonstrate senior level ability with SQL database
and programming/scripts.

. Must be able to demonstrate senior level ability with Crystal
Report development and creation.

. Proven experience with troubleshooting principles, methodologies,
and issue resolution techniques.



Here's the additional guidance as per the hiring manager:



Regarding Travel: limited, part of the on boarding may involve traveling to
the plants. Additionally, we will be upgrading Epicor in China within the
next two years and need to support them until we have adequate support
onsite in China, therefore there will be trips to China in the future.
Since we have installed Video Conferencing at all our sites (China
included) our travel requirements have been substantially reduced,
especially due to China being on our North American network.



Regarding programming tools: VB is currently the key, as all customizations
have been written in VB in the current release. One of the major projects
that this person will be working on is the upgrade of our current Epicor
Vantage system to the next release level. This next release level enables
customizations and maintenance in C# - which is what we want to work towards
as VB is aging.



Regarding SQL: not looking for SQL database administration - but
familiarity with SQL logs and general knowledge of SQL is important. SQL
scripts are important so knowledge of or the ability to "pick it up" is
important as SQL is the database supporting Epicor.



We don't do a lot of Crystal Reporting as they are relatively inflexible in
terms of being able to manipulate data, but they have their place and we do
have quite a few Crystal Reports running that are provided by Vantage. The
importance is that if these reports have a problem I need someone who can
fix the report.



In order of importance:

1) VB

2) SQL and SQL scripts - same importance is knowledge of Pivot
tables/stored procedures/macros as this is our data analysis platform of
choice due to performance issues in Epicor Vantage.

3) Crystal reporting - creation and maintenance

4) C# (for future)
