We are preparing Epicor and have not yet transitionned to it, it’s scheduled next year. One challenge we are facing is site management. We have two plants with the same activities and operations, but with different financial accounting, so we are going towards one ompany but two sites.
One thing we do frequently is change the site where a job is done (it would be scheduled on site 01 but then moved and done on site 2).
Another thing is we sometimes do some operations of the job on site 01 and some on site 02.
Both of these changes are done on-the-fly, meaning the job could already be started and we would send it to be finished on the second site in the same day.
The way we think it could work would be to implement alternate methods for such parts, and then change the job site and method in the first case.
In the second case, we’re thinking to implement subcontracting operations in each site, and then change operations in the job to subcontract it to the second site.
These seems a little over-engineered in my eyes but I don’t have the experience of Epicor to be a good judge of that. Do you think its doable this way ? or in another way ?
