Job scheduling and Manufacturing component parts's leadtime

Hi Amy,

Thanks.

What about the leadtime of the purchase parts? Does the shedule
consider the leadtime requirement to buy the material (purchase
components)? If not, is there work around to make it works.

Hi Group,

I am having a problem to add leadtime of sub component parts to a
parent job.

Parent part #A with manual job and scheduled start date 09/22/05 and
due date 09/29/05

The materials use for part #A are manufacturing parts #B and #C

When I ran MRP, the two jobs created with the start date 09/21/05 and
due date 09/27/05. ??? the materials not ready to build the parent part.

How can I make the system considers the lead time of the part #B and
C# ?

Any suggestions for solutions?

Thanks,

Nam
Hi Nam,
I've only ever scheduled without MRP in Vantage so I may be off base here,
but this is the only thing I can think of that might be causing it (and
since I didn't see any other responses) I thought I'd throw it out there...

Which manufacturing operation on the parent job do you have manufactured
materials B and C associated to? If you have them associated to a
manufacturing operation, the start date for that particular operation will
be the due date for that material.

i.e. If you have them associated to op 50 and that particular operation is
scheduled to start on 9/27/05, Vantage won't schedule the subassemblies to
be needed until 9/27/05 regardless of when the entire job is scheduled to
start.

If you want them to be ready at the very first operation, make sure the
manufactured materials are associated to operation 10.

If they are set up to op 10 in your system and you are still getting those
late start dates, hopefully someone else can help with more ideas...

Hope this helps
