Job Status Report

Well, I guess I thought I was responding to another thread, but here's my input.

I don't see a report that gives you all the information you're looking for. It's all in there, but the trick is getting it out.

Explaining how to use the BAQ designer is beyond the scope of what I can do here. Epicor has some materials you should be able to get from EpicWeb (if you have access). If you don't want to spend the time learning to write BAQs, I'd say some consulting is in order.

Good luck!

Joe

Vantage 8.03.408 - In Advance, I apologize I am not a scheduling guru so this may be a stupid question...

We are re-implementing our use of the scheduling module and re-evaluating available reports, and what we need to develop. When viewing the Job Status report there is a column for Earned Hours & Actual Hours.

On most of our jobs the earned hours are different than the actual hours and the actual hours match the actual hours on the production detail report as I would expect.

Can someone explain how the report calculates earned hours and why it is different from actual hours?

Thanks in advance.

I believe that the earned hours is qty manufactured x standard. Actual is of course clock in to clock out.

From Data Dictionary for the LaborDtl.EarnedHrs field:

"The amount of hours that it should have taken (based on standard) to produce the reported LaborQty. For Setup labor the Earned hours is the lessor of (Est.Setup - ActSetUp) or LaborDtl.BurdenHrs. Rework labor always has zero Earned hrs. Earned hours for production labor is calculated as (JobOper.EstProdHours / JobOper.RunQty) * LaborDtl.LaborQty"

Hello!

I apologize in advance if this topic has been brought up.  I am new to Epicor and came from a place that used SyteLine.  I was spoiled an had a great report that we called a "job status report"  I see Epicor has a job status report but it doesn't have all the information I am looking for

What I am looking for...

- A report where I can enter in a specific job number or a bunch of job numbers, based on due date.

- Report shows all the material required to make the job

- Shows OH qty of the material

- Shows anything in WIP

- Shows anything on order, due date of order and vendor name that is making it

I uploaded an example of the report

Any ideas on how I can achieve this in Epicor?

Thanks :)

Are you already familiar with the BAQ designer the job tables?
I took a quick look at your example & was thinking I'd look at these tables to start JobHead, JobAsmbl and JobMtl.
I'll give it a look. I was hoping someone had beaten me to it. :-)

Thanks,

Joe
