Jobs on Hold but shop does not know

Diane,

Yellow would be good, except it is already used. I would hope Epicor
could come up with a suitable color.

Steve,

I was thinking maybe like yellow - so you could see that it was
on hold and
the scheduler could then decide if it needed to be resceduled or
left in the
original spot. I would want it to be left in the schedule
though....

Diane,

Good suggestion. I was just about to write the same thing. It
should
no longer be scheduled, but it should be in a new color, like
the blue
for what-if, so you know that is where it was last planned.

Rhonda,

To me that would be scarey to not see it in the visual
scheduling board -
what if you thought you had open time and filled the
spot and
then the job
came off hold? Perhaps a different color for the bar
could cue
you that is
was on hold??

We've also talked about this, but I don't think we
actually
turned in a
suggestion.
A Job on Hold should also not show up on the Visual
Scheduling
Board.
I agreed with the added suggestions about using a reason
code,
as well as
the ability to put the methods master on hold.

This sounds like an excellent suggestion-especially that
the
HOLD button
would show in data collection - and it should pop in
purchasing,
shipping
also.

I'm thinking of sending in a suggested enhancement to Epicor and would like
the onelist's input. If you put a job on hold, have a check box on the job
to mark it on hold and add a fourth tab to the data collection screen after
CURRENT, AVAILABLE, EXPECTED to display HOLD. My thinking would point you to
the MEMOS of jobs on HOLD to see what's going on. Any comments.

You may want the option of putting the Methods on hold in Part File

Pat
f you use a reason code the character field would be easier to use in reports.
The memo fields can't be sorted on or used in calculations. We don't use
data collection or put jobs on hold so this input is only worth $0.02.

I agree, I was also thinking if data collection/work queue displayed the
JOBCODE field this could be used like you suggest. H=Hold, T=Tooling Ready,
etc... Right now if we put a job on hold we change the job duedate to
12/12/12 and back schedule, this moves it out in Time Phase and if you see
an operation start date under the CURRENT WORK tab in data collection your
suppose to know it's on hold.
