Joining DBF and ODBC

Create a subreport with the odbc database, and link the subreport using the
exported DBF files.
You may need to convert the fields in the DBF file to a number to join, and
therefore create the join using the calculated field to the subreport.
You are correct. You can't join directly to the DBF, but the subreport
trick will allow it and I have used this method several times.
You also have to set up all your clients with ODBC, and set up the .mfg file
to enable the odbc parameters at it's end.
Let me know if you need details.

Subject: [Vantage] Joining DBF and ODBC

Has anyone sucessfully joined the a DBF with an ODBC database?

Epicor uses the DBF files in the c:\epicor\mfgwrk61 folder for its
normal reports in the system such as the Sales Order and Traveller
etc.

I want to add fields to this, but when I try to link the ODBC
database on the server to this, I cannot produce the results.

Has anyone solved this?

Thanks!
Ben
